About us

Making data accessible for all

We’re a dedicated team, for your wildest data dreams.

Our Story

SwimMarketplace was founded by siblings Liv and Finn Olsen, teen competitive swimmers from Westchester Aquatic Club. As lifelong swimmers, they saw first-hand how quickly young athletes outgrow expensive swim gear – and how the high cost can leave some teammates without the equipment they need. In 2024, Liv and Finn decided to create a solution: a community-driven marketplace where swimmers could share quality gear with each other at affordable prices. What started as a small project for their swim club grew into SwimMarketplace – a platform built by swimmers, for swimmers, to make competitive swimming more affordable and sustainable for everyone.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make competitive swimming more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for athletes everywhere. We connect the swim community to share high-quality gear, reducing the financial burden on families and keeping good equipment in use (and out of landfills). By helping swimmers save money on gear, we hope to ensure that no one is held back from the sport they love.

Our Vision

We envision a worldwide swim community where every swimmer – from beginners to elites – can find the gear they need to excel. Our vision is to build the most trusted swim gear marketplace, one that fosters a supportive community and ensures cost is never a barrier to participation. In the future we imagine, swimmers help each other succeed both in and out of the pool through the connections made on SwimMarketplace.

Supporting Scholarship Swimmers

Giving back is a core value of SwimMarketplace. We're committed to supporting scholarship swimmers and those in need by providing discounted or free gear to athletes who might not otherwise afford it. A portion of our proceeds (and donated items) goes toward outfitting young swimmers with the essential suits and equipment they need to pursue their dreams. Liv and Finn started SwimMarketplace to help their fellow swimmers – and that means every swimmer should have access to quality gear, regardless of their financial situation.
